How to connect Sphinx Mind to BigQuery?

In this tutorial, we'll guide you on how to seamlessly connect your BigQuery project with Sphinx Mind. The procedure is both straightforward and secure.

Step 1: Log in to your Google Cloud Console, open the Navigation Menu on the side, and navigate to IAM.

Step 2: Click on "Grant Access."

Step 3: In the "New Principals" field, paste the service account email you copied from the Sphinx Mind portal.

Step 4: In the roles dropdown, search for and select the following roles:

  • BigQuery Data Viewer: Allows viewing of your datasets and tables.
  • BigQuery Job User: Enables running of queries and jobs from your project.
  • BigQuery Session Read: Grants permission to run read-only queries.

Step 5: Confirm you have granted the 3 permissions as shown in the screenshot, then click "Save."

Step 6: Head back to Sphinx Mind and add your Project ID. You can locate your Project ID in your Google Cloud Console home or directly in the project URL. For instance, if your URL is https://console.cloud.google.com/welcome?project=my-project-id, the Project ID is "my-project-id".

Step 7: Click "Fetch Table." If you see the tables, the access was successful. If not, please ensure you added the correct email and permissions.

With these steps, your BigQuery should now be connected to Sphinx Mind. Happy data analyzing!
